Hey there, I’m Ruyi - a multidisciplinary product and UX designer with a passion for user research and storytelling. I recently graduated from New York University | Tisch, focusing on Human-Computer Interaction and Digital Media Art.  Previously, I studied Cinematography & Motion Graphics at UCLA and Business & documentary filmmaking at XJTLU.

Growing up with my dad being a businessman, I am used to taking into consideration the business aspect of any product. But because of my passion for people’s stories and social good, I also majored in documentary filmmaking in my first two years of college - which trained my journalism and empathy skills by interviewing hundreds of people.

I started my journey at NYU Tisch in 2018, embracing a new way of storytelling via art and technology , and finally found my passion lying in combining business, human-centered research, art and technology together to solve problems for people as a UX designer.

I have a lot of experience working with startups, agencies and art studios, and I work best in a fast-paced working environment. Clients I worked with include Comcast/NBC Sports, XFL, Nascar, New Museum, littleGIANTwolf.

When I am not designing, you may find me skydiving, surfing, mountain climbing, or traveling around the world and making vlogs. Nature and outdoor activities have always been my NO.1 inspiration ;)
